The Two-striped Garter Snake (Thamnophis hammondii) is a species of snake in the Colubridae family, it is found in Mexico and the United States. This species is considered one of the most aquatic of garter snakes and is typically associated with wetland habitats such as streams , creeks and pools (Fitch, 1940; Rossman, et al. 1996). They do have toxins in their saliva which can be deadly to their prey and their bite might produce an unpleasant reaction in humans, but they are not considered dangerous to humans.
